The Art of Belonging

A particular ache resides in the hearts of those who have never felt truly at home—in their families, their relationships, or even within themselves. It is a quiet exile, a longing for a place where they are seen and deeply understood. Perhaps you’ve felt this. Perhaps you come from a lineage weighed down by toxicity, patterns that echo through generations, leaving you feeling disconnected, drained, or stuck in relationships that fail to nourish your spirit. Perhaps you’ve spent your life trying to belong, only to find yourself still yearning, and searching.

You are not the only one. We are also living in a time marked by a loneliness epidemic, where the Western ideals of hyper-individualization have left many of us grieving an unseen loss—the loss of community, connection, and the deep-rooted sense of belonging that comes from being part of something greater than ourselves. This grief, though unspoken, is palpable. It has isolated us, fractured our relationships, and left us navigating the world untethered and longing for a place to land.

The Art of Belonging is a six-month online exploration of this profound human desire. It is a safe, supportive space where we gather as a community to unravel the question: what does it mean to belong? Together, we will embark on a transformative journey through the gateways of belonging, seeking not just answers but embodied understanding.

If you have felt lost, unseen, or unsupported, know this: you are not alone. There is a place for you here—a space where you can finally come home, to yourself, to others, and to the profound truth that you have always belonged.

Program Overview

Month One - Worldviews of Belonging

Our first virtual gathering as a community marks the beginning of a sacred journey together—a space to connect, share, and begin weaving the felt sense of home within this intentional container. In this inaugural month, we will dive into the profound question of what it means to belong, opening the door to a rich exploration of different worldviews and paradigms of belonging.

Month Two - Relating to Your Family of Origin

We will explore how the narratives and patterns shaped in childhood create the blueprint for how we experience belonging and navigate relationships later in life. Together, we will examine the profound influences of attachment, survival adaptations, and inherited legacy burdens that shape our relational roles. Through this exploration, we’ll uncover pathways to forgiveness and how to foster deeper, more authentic connections with our family of kin.

Month Three - Returning Home to Yourself

We will embark on the monumental journey of exploring your inner world and nurturing the most profound relationship you will ever have—your relationship with yourself. When you learn to stand firmly in your truth and offer yourself the love you deserve, the world reflects that love to you in ways you’ve only dreamed of.

We will also explore two transformative self-relational tools: The Enneagram, which is a dynamic framework for understanding personality patterns and motivations, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate approach to exploring the many parts of yourself that shape your inner world.

Month Four - Honoring Your Ancestors

We will explore the sacred art of connecting with and building relationships with our ancestors. You will learn how to attune to the unseen world and access the unwavering support that your lineage offers. Together, we will honor the presence of those who came before us, deepening our awareness of how they relate to us and how we, in turn, can invite their guidance, wisdom, and love back into our lives.

Month Five - Creating Chosen Family

We will learn about building conscious connections—relationships rooted in intentionality, authenticity, and mutual support. Drawing from the philosophy of relationship anarchy, which challenges traditional norms and emphasizes freedom, individuality, and mutual respect in all types of relationships, we will explore what it means to create connections that truly align with your values.

Month Six - Building Conscious Communities

In our final month together, we will focus on the art of building intentional and meaningful communities rooted in shared values, alignment, and safety while embracing the principles of social justice, diversity, and inclusion. Together, we will explore how to create spaces that honor different lived experiences, foster mutual respect, and empower collective growth.

Meet Your Guide: Makenzie

Growing up as a highly sensitive empath, I often felt out of place in my family, where emotions were suppressed, and the depth I longed for was absent. This disconnect shaped my relationships in years to come, as I subconsciously surrounded myself with emotionally unavailable and abusive people since that is what I was most familiar with in my childhood.

Through years of deep therapy, plant medicine, attachment theory, and the transformative power of building conscious communities, I began to awaken and redefine what true love and belonging looked like for me. This awakening inspired me to share these sacred truths with others.

I attended a two-year seminary school and trained to become an Entheogenic Minister while traveling the globe learning different frameworks around what family and belonging meant from Indigenous elders worldwide. I also become a certified Enneagram and Ancestral Medicine Facilitator.

Now, I offer the program I once longed for—a sacred pathway to healing, belonging, and connection. It is my deepest honor to walk alongside you on your journey, to uncover what it means to truly belong—because, as I’ve come to discover, there really is no place like home.

“Before taking this program, I constantly felt like an outsider—even in my closest relationships. I struggled to express my needs, felt disconnected from my family, and couldn’t seem to form friendships that truly nourished me. During the course, I learned how to tune into my emotions and body to understand what I was really longing for. One of the most transformative moments was using the Enneagram to uncover how my need to feel 'strong' (Enneagram 8) kept me from being vulnerable with others. I’ve now shown that part of me more love and understanding and by doing so, have softened into deeper connections with others.”

“Because true belonging happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world. Our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self acceptance.”
